The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) can help eligible New Yorkers heat and cool their homes. If you are eligible, you may receive one regular HEAP benefit per program year and could also be eligible for emergency HEAP benefits if you are in danger of running out of fuel or having your utility service shut off. The Cambridge Fuel Fund is here to help! Money from this fund is sent directly to the recipient’s own provider whether for fuel oil, wood, kerosene, propane, electricity or wood pellets.
Some requirements include living in the Cambridge School District, being ineligible for HEAP funds or those funds are unavailable, and must be responsible for own heating needs. Assistance is for current needs only, not past expenses, and is for one-time only each heating season.

Donations may be sent to Cambridge Fuel Fund, P.O. Box 473, Cambridge, NY 12816, checks made out to “Cambridge Fuel Fund.” Donations are tax-deductible as funds are administered by a 501(c)3 organization.
If you earn less than $60,000 tax help is available by IRS trained certified local volunteers through VITA. Daytime, evening, and weekend appointments are offered in January through April in Warren, Washington, and Saratoga counties. You can electronically file your return for free. They often meet at the Cambridge Food Pantry in addition to other locations.

The Gloria Palmer Charitable Trust is a Christian missionary outreach program for the Cambridge and Salem School Districts to provide financial assistance to persons who are in need of health care they cannot afford.
Eligibility Requirements
1. Reside in Cambridge or Salem school districts
2. Have a legitimate financial health care need
3. Need cannot be covered by insurance
4. Can provide appropriate documentation of the need.
